May 05, 2025
The Dean’s Award Competition is a traditional annual event at the Faculty of Science, where students present the results of their scientific work across several thematic sections and study levels, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD categories. This year’s competition took place on May 5, bringing together students from six thematic sections as well as a poster session.
I participated in the Master’s category within the Earth Sciences section and was honored to win the section and become the overall winner in this category. In addition, I also received recognition in the poster session. I submitted my research on flood vulnerability in Punjab, Pakistan.
My research focused on flood vulnerability in Punjab, Pakistan, combining geospatial analysis, GIS-based vulnerability assessment, and cartographic methods to better understand regional flood risk and spatial inequalities. A major part of the work was the development of an atlas and visual tools that help communicate complex spatial patterns in a clear and accessible way.
