From Germany across the UK and back
October 01, 2025
In July and August, I went on a long-distance solo cycling adventure through much of the UK, starting and finishing in Germany. The journey took me from Germany into France, across the English Channel via ferry from Roscoff to Plymouth, and then through England, Wales, and Scotland, exploring both cities and remote landscapes. I returned south through England to Harwich, caught a ferry to the Netherlands, rode through Dutch towns like Zwolle and Utrecht, and finally cycled back into Germany.
Over 46 days, I covered 4,605 km with 32,578 meters of climbing, spending 265 hours in the saddle. The trip combined 30 nights of wild camping, 14 nights with friends or acquaintances, and one night on a ferry—all completed with zero flat tires.
