From Germany to the edge of Asia and back

August 01, 2023

Between my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, over nearly three months, I went on a solo cycling journey from Germany all the way to the edge of the Asian continent and back. My route carried me south and east through Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, and Türkiye, before returning through Greece, Italy, Austria, and back into Germany.

The ride covered 4,980 km with 37,590 meters of climbing, averaging 71 km per day over 335.6 hours in the saddle. Nights under the open sky were a constant companion, with 50 nights of wild camping along the way.
